iOS APP
Card Advisor
A feature within the TPG (The Points Guy) app utilizing users’ geolocation services to provide recommendations on which credit card to use and strategies for maximizing reward points.
Problem
The current feature solely presents a list of nearby stores without incorporating a map functionality, limiting users’ ability to explore stores and capitalize on the benefits offered by their existing wallet cards. Additionally, users cannot strategize their shopping or explore alternative locations while at home.
Objective
Enhance the current feature to include a map view, enabling users to search for stores while at home and plan their visits accordingly. Users should have the capability to view nearby stores based on their current location or explore different areas. Additionally, the map should display key features such as sorting cards by introductory bonuses, maximum rewards, and priority trips, providing users with comprehensive information to make informed decisions.
Role
UI Design, Visual Design & Interaction Design
Design Process
The project started with a collaborative team meeting that included stakeholders, engineering, UX, and the creative team. Given the medium size of the project, we collectively agreed to begin by creating wireframes and conducting user testing before advancing to the final design phase.
Since the plan involved conducting user testing, I opted to begin with high-fidelity wireframes, as they provide a more detailed representation. I crafted multiple versions of the flow and shared them with the team. Together, we narrowed down the options to a few that we deemed suitable for testing.
Wireframe & Prototype
After developing wireframes to map out the layout and functionality, I advanced a operating prototype. This prototype was shared with the group for remarks and validation. Adjustments were made primarily based on their input to ensure alignment with assignment objectives and consumer expectancies. This collaborative manner helped become aware of problems early on and facilitated smoother development.
Conclusion
In light of shifting business goals and market dynamics, the development of this project has been temporarily deferred to the backlog. However, both the team and senior management remain enthusiastic about bringing this feature to fruition in the future. The stakeholder’s positive impression of the proposed feature further underscores its potential value. While its implementation may be delayed, the anticipation and commitment to its eventual realization remain steadfast among all involved parties.
